About Bolu
The charming province of East Black Sea region, Bolu has 9 districts as Dörtdivan, Gerede, Göynük, Kıbrıscık, Mengen, Mudurnu, Seben, Yeniçağa and Merkez. Our province had become a favorite place for people who are winter sporty, who are interesting with history and culture, and who want to evaluate alternative vacation options by reason of its peaceful natural environment with advantage of its closeness to Istanbul and Ankara so easement of access.
Dörtdivan
It is neighbor to Yeniçağa and Gerede districts. It is quite close to Ankara and there are coach tours to Istanbul and Ankara everyday. There are Byzantine archeological heritages in Yağbaşlar village which is in the borders of our province and also there are lots of tombs which are open to visit. Nonetheless, some festivals are organized every summer. Although its economy depends on agriculture and livestock, as the only factory in here, our economical benefit to the region is considerable.
Gerede
It is the closest district to Ankara. It is one of the important most developed leather trade centers in Turkey. It is the only district which has a campus School of Vocational Education of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University. While it is hosting to cross contests in winter mounts with the present ski running tracks, it has becomes a cynosure of several tourists with lots of promenades and forest camp regions as Esentepe is the favorite one. Furthermore, it is taking attention of people who are interested in history with its historical mosques, tombs, castles, bridges.
Göynük
When we talked about the district, which is neighbor to Mudurnu, the first thought is the Göynük homes which are traditional Turkish homes. The district is declared as "urban protected area" because of its civil architecture. Although it has Frisian and Byzantine archeological heritages and there are also fundamental historical tombs. Besides, it has lots of natural beauties as the Sünnet Lake is in the first place. And it is hosting to several tourist by this way.
Kıbrıscık
The economy of this little district, which has bound to Seben, depends on small cattle raising. It has quite wide forests and tablelands. Although, in summer, it brims over promenades as Karagöl National Park is in the first place.
Mengen
It is the district which is famous with cookers. It is hosting several tourists because of the Mengen Cookers Festivals, which is organized in summer, the lakes in its region and its historical and cultural beauties. Economy of this region depends on forestry. Also, agriculture and livestock are worked.
Mudurnu
The famous Abant Lake and Sülüklü Lake are in the boundaries of Mudurnu. Although this two lakes helps to tourism of Mudurnu, it's hosting to several guests because of its historical houses, its natural beauties, thermal springs and its castle as all the same in Bolu
Seben
Means of livelihood of this district are agriculture, livestock and forestry. Seben apples are famous and so apple production is developed in the area. Aladağ and around are appropriate places for promenade and tableland tracking. There are dragged graves that belongs to Frisian kings, church remains and dragged written stones, which belongs to Byzantine period of time, in the Çeltikdere Valley. Various caves and historical rock houses are lion of the region.
Yeniçağa
Access to the district is so easy because Ankara Istanbul E- 80 highway is passing in the district. Yeniçağ Lake, which is near to the highway, and the forest area around has a amazing beauty and is ideal for promenade. Economy of the district depends on transportation and small industry management.
